Anti-Wargame lets a player lead the USA into a war against terrorism. It won't be easy though, in real life, soldiers often desert (over half a million during the Vietnam War), people at home protest, and the President's popularity sinks. It is the player-President’s challenge to keep up her own presidential popularity while pursuing whatever strategy might appeal to her sense of gameplay or political outlook.

Tools at her disposal include direct control of the military and the budget. The challenges include a press corps that needs constant attention, a population that demands a decent living, and a business sector that presses a tidy profit.
Underlying the play is a set of algorithms that have their own political agenda. This is an anti-wargame. The glamour is found in fueling the protests not bombing the poor. Everyone wins if the player can make it through to the revolution that will overthrow the Presidency. The game is over if there is an attack on a nuclear plant in the US. As Rosa Luxembourg put it, "the choice is socialism or barbarism."
